A serving pastor of the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN, in Jos, Plateau State, Rev. Polycarp Zango, who was declared missing on October 19, 2020, has appeared in a video saying he was captured by “soldiers of the caliphate”, a self-made nickname of the Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP.
Although the missing pastor did not state his current location in a video which has gone viral, but was seen pleading for help.
Rev. Zango was said to have been abducted on Monday, October 19, 2020, on his way to Gombe for a conference before his appearance in a viral video, looking terrified, speaking with a trembling voice.
The leading pastor of COCIN Wild Life Park, Jos, also said there were other Christian ladies in the custody of the insurgents, pleading with the government and leaders to rescue him.
While waiting for his return, there was an earlier unconfirmed report of his release and anxiety filled his residence, but this turned out to be a false narrative that dimmed the hopes raised for the return of the pastor.

As at the time of filing in this report, there was no clear information from security agencies on the faith of the abducted pastor and four other women, which include a bride to be, whose wedding is slated for December 2020, but church leaders have been calling for prayers for their release.
