The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources Abdulmumuni Danga has been charged to court by the Nigerian Police on seven counts alleged abduction, rape, assault, and threat to life of one Elizabeth Onyenyi.
The charge which was filed at the federal capital territory high court is coming five months after the viral video of Danga’s assault on Elizabeth
The offences are said to be a violation of the constitutional right to be protected against inhuman treatment and the violence against persons (prohibition) act 2015, as well as the anti-torture act, 2017.

Elizabeth alleged that Danga reacted to a Facebook post she made, by whisking her and her 3-years old son to an unknown location, stripped her naked, and dehumanized her while making a video of her in the presence of her son and a few other people.
The Kogi Commissioner is also accused of falsifying an audio recording claiming same to have been issued unlawfully by one Chinoyerem Welle who works as a medical doctor at the police hospital.
