The Director-General, Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Musa Nuhu says the Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB has commenced an investigation into the A-wing tip incident involving Middle East Airlines and Turkish Airlines aircraft at the cargo area of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos on Wednesday.
Speaking to AIT through a Telephone call, Nuhu notes that the outcome of AIB report on the Lagos airport plane collision incidence will determine the next line of action by the NCAA.
The DG says recent Accident reports released by the AIB will be presented to NCAA after the sallah break for a close monitoring implementation and assures Nigerians that airport authorities will not relent in their duties to ensure airspace accidents is reduced to its bearest minimum.

It was gathered that the collision occurred as Middle East Airlines plane was coming to park on the apron while Turkish Airlines aircraft was taxiing out as passengers on Turkish Airlines flight were made to disembark.
There have been reports on several ground collision incidents at the Lagos Airport due to limited space. Traffic it appears has surpassed the initial plan of the airport.
