Local Govt. Polls: Delta Police restrict vehicular movement

Ahead of the Delta State local government council elections scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 2021, the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ari, has ordered the restriction of vehicular movements in the state from 12 am on Friday, March 5 to 4 pm March 6, 2021.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP, Edafe Bright, and made available to ait.live.

The statement also said that only those on essential services and electorates with valid voters card will be allowed movement during the restriction order.

While disclosing that over 8, 000 security personnel have been deployed for the polls to ensure adequate security, the Police Command urged all stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully before, during, and after the elections.
