More legal troubles have continued to trail the All Progressives Congress APC ahead of Saturday’s Bye Election in Imo North senatorial district.
This follows an Abuja Federal High Court order on Friday disqualifying Francis Ibezim from contesting the election on grounds that he made false statements and false declarations in the affidavit he submitted to his party, the APC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the order after finding that Ibezim presented West African School Certificate WASC documents bearing two names, Ibezim Chukwuma Frank and Ibezim Francis Chukwuma.
Consequently, the judge directed INEC to remove Ibezim from the list of candidates for the by-election.
The order of the Federal High Court came on the heels of another judgment from the Court of Appeal in Owerri this Friday which sacked Ifeanyi Ararume, as the candidate of the APC for the same bye-election.
