The Nigerian Air Force says, additional Super Tucano Aircraft and other platforms have been procured.
The additions are in the renewed efforts of the Air Force to ensure the total elimination of Boko Haram insurgents in the northeast.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar made this known during lunch with troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, at NAF base Yola, to mark this years’ Eid-El Kabir Sallah celebration.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, represented by the Chief of Communication and Information System, Air Vice Marshal Paul Dimfwina, commended the personnel for the sacrifice being made to defend the nation.
He urged them not to allow themselves to be taken unawares.
He told them that the procurement of the Super Tucano aircraft would be a game changer in the fight against insurgency.
The Commamder, 153 Base Services Group, Air Commodore, Mohammed Yusuf says, the consistent presence of the Chief of Air staff is a great morale booster for the service personnel.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, through his Deputy, Crowther Seth, lauded the Nigerian Airforce for their efforts to ensure peace in the state.

It is expected that the Eid-el-Kabir get together and similar festive celebrations with the troops in the frontline will help fill the void created as the personnel are not able to celebrate with their families.
