There is no cause for alarm over the Coronavirus disease as athletes and sports lovers converge in Edo State later this month for the National Sports Festival tagged Edo 2020.
South-South Coordinator of the Festival, Sylvester Eshiet made this known at the U.J Esuene Stadium, Calabar on Thursday, where he handed over the Torch of Unity to the Deputy Governor, Professor Invara Esu to formally invite Cross River to the National competition.

Eshiet said the Commission will screen all athletes to ensure that they don’t have health issues before the event, saying measures have been put in place.
On his part, the Deputy Governor who received the Torch on behalf of Governor, Professor Ben Ayade, said the State will put up a befitting outing at the competition given its preparation for the sporting event.
The Cross River State contingent are putting finishing touches to their preparation ahead of the 2020 National Sports Festival billed to take place in Edo State from the 20th of March to 1st April, 2020.
