The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has warned members of the public that it has not authorized any security agency to collect three percent remittances due to the commission into a private account in the United Kingdom.

The commission stated that the law setting up the NDDC does not provide for the collection of its revenue by any agency other than the commission, while the Treasury Single Account, TSA stipulates that all revenues due to any agency of government should be paid only to that agency’s account in the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

In a statement signed by the Director Corporate Affairs, NDDC, Charles Odili, he insisted that any of such payments or remittances shall never count as statutory payments to the NDDC, and warned oil companies to pay any of such money to the NDDC account with the CBN.

The commission however advised any oil companies being coerced to make such payments to approach the NDDC’s Director Legal Services, Clever Okoro, for prompt action.
