The new Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 5 comprising Edo, Delta, and the Bayelsa States, Isaac Akinmoyede, and the Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has described the security situation in the State as stable, after the challenges posed by the hijack of the EndSARS protests which resulted in two jailbreaks.
They made this known to the Journalists, after a closed door meeting in the Government house, Benin City.

The AIG assured that the Nigeria Police Force, will continue to ensure safety of the residents.
On his part, Governor Godwin Obaseki acknowledged that the security situation has improved, as a result of the concerted efforts made by the different security agencies, to promote peaceful coexistence in the State.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police who recently resumed duty at the Zone 5 Command was formerly in charge of Zone 17 made up of Ondo and Ekiti States.
