Electricity consumers in Enugu State, South East Nigeria, have called on the Federal Government to stop playing politics with the energy sector.
Interacting with ait.live in Enugu, some electricity consumers who condemned the new increase in electricity tariff, wondered why service providers opted for increase in tariff when the power supply in the country is getting worse by the day.
According to them, large and medium scale businesses in the country have resorted to alternative energy services.
They, therefore, called on the government to reverse the increase for the sake of the poor masses.
Reacting to the complaint of consumers, Head, Corporate Communications, Enugu Electricity Distributions Company, Emeka Eze, said the new increase will reposition EEDC for more quality service delivery to the people.

He assured that the era of business as usual has gone in the electricity company, stressing that the company put modalities in place to flush out the bad element in the system for better services.
