A fourteen man judicial panel of inquiry has been constituted by the Niger State government and headed by Justice Ishaku Usman as Chairman.
Governor Abubakar Bello in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mary Berje, charged the panel to be thorough and fair to all the parties involved, including the police.
The Panel’s terms of reference include; investigate police brutality, abuse of human rights and other extrajudicial acts by the disbanded SARS.
The panel is also expected to make recommendations on positive reforms to be taken and measures to avert such abuses in future.

The Chairman of the panel, Justice Ishaku Usman, appreciated the governor for the confidence reposed in them. He assured the governor that members of the panel will do their best to achieve the desired objectives.
The Panel is expected to submit it’s report in a month.
