Muslim faithful have converged on the Minna Central Mosque to observe a special prayer session organised by the Niger State Government against insecurity.
The prayer was observed simultaneously in all the 8 Emirate Councils with the Chief Imams leading the sessions.

Pages of the Holy Qur’an were shared with those who could read it well.
Imams and teachers of Islamic schools were in attendance with a delegation of their students.
Governor Abubakar Bello expressed satisfaction with the turn out, as well as the participation.
The prayer session is part of activities lined up to seek Allah’s intervention in the security challenges the communities in Niger State have been contending with for years.
Lives and properties have been lost as a result of persistent bandit attacks, especially in communities across rural areas.
Communities in about 16 local government areas have witnessed different attacks at different times from the bandits.
The worst-hit local governments are Shiroro, Rafi, Munya and Mariga. Others are Mashegu, Lavun, Again, Lapai, Katcha and Wushishi. Gurara, Suleja,Tafa, Kontagora, Agwara and Borgu are also not left out.
