The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed that the Covid-19 death toll in the country has risen to 249. This follows 16 new fatalities being the highest number of deaths to be recorded in one day in at least 2 weeks.
There are 276 new Covid-19 infections recorded 15 states with the total number of confirmed cases in the country now 8,344.
The new infections include Lagos-161, Rivers-36, Edo-27, Kaduna-19, Nasarawa-10, Oyo-6, Kano-4, Delta and Ebonyi-3 each, Gombe-2 and 1 each in Ogun, Ondo, Borno, Abia, Bauchi.

The Centre also says 77 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours with the number of successfully treated cases now 2,285.
