There are 779 new Covid-19 infections in Nigeria being the highest number of cases to be recorded in a single day since the index case on February 27. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 24,077. The last highest number of infections in 24 hours was 745 on June 17.
The 779 new Covid-19 infections are in 22 states including Lagos-285; Rivers-68; FCT and Edo-60 each; Enugu-56; Delta-47; Ebonyi-42; Oyo-41 and Kaduna-19. Others are Ogun-18; Ondo-16; Imo-12; Sokoto-11; Borno-9; Nasarawa-8; Abia, Gombe and Kebbi-5 each; Kano-4; Yobe and Ekiti-3; Osun-2.

There are 372 Covid-19 patients discharged in the last 24 hours with the total number of successfully treated cases in Nigeria now 8,625.

Meanwhile, there are 4 new Covid-19 fatalities recorded in some states with death toll in the country put at 558.
