The executive director, National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib says the Nigerian government is making efforts to begin the production of vaccines in the country.
Shuaib said this during a health walk in Abuja in Saturday to commemeorate the 2022 African vaccination week.
From the eradication of wild Polio virus, small pox and even covid-19 virus, vaccines have helped to save and promote healthier lives globally.

The walk was to increase awareness on the importance of vaccines in Nigeria.
The effort is an initiative that has proven particularly effective in bridging the vaccine access gap by reaching populations with limited access to regular health services, and providing the opportunity to integrate other interventions with immunisation services.
Faisal said local production of vaccines will prove an improvement in vaccination in Nigeria as the recently launched national immunization coverage survey saw Nigeria move up from 34percent to 57 percent with a more still needed to be done.
