The Nigerian Army has procured a new Propelled Artillery Gun and a Vehicle Ultra-Light Carriage Artillery, VULCA, to support the fight against terrorism in the North-East.
Chief of the Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai, inspected and test fired the gun at the Nigerian Army School of Artillery in Kachia, Kaduna State.
The procurement of the gun is coming at a time when it is needed in the theatre of operation, to boost logistics support, in the efforts to combat Boko Haram in the North-East.
According to the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sagir Musa, the Propelled Artillery Gun will be inducted into the Nigerian Army theatre of Operation Lafiya Dole.
The Propelled Artillery Gun was procured by the Federal Government through the Ministry of Defence.

The Chief of the Army Staff also inaugurated the newly constructed Headquarters of the Nigerian Army School of Artillery, with a view to enhance the productivity of the officers and soldiers, at the training centre.
