The Nigeria Police Force has set up it’s Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Gombe State that would cover the North-Eastern part of the country
According to the head of the Department, Assistant Inspector General of Police Amba Asuquo, the unit was created with the South East Division to carry out investigations and prosecute against Financial Crimes, land disputes and terrorism.
The department assures the people of their safety and commitment in the fight against terror.
At an informal meeting between the Police and members of the Community Relations Committee in Gombe State, the Police boss pleaded for support to enable the Force achieve the desired result
Asuquo noted that the challenges of curbing terrorism would be enormous for the Police department in the North East without the support of the people
Observers however say the development would be watched closely to see how the Police would change the narrative in the North East.
