The Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ogun State Chapter, Emmanuel Bankole says the union will still go ahead with the planned protest to register their displeasure at the deplorable state of the Otta Joju Abeokuta highway on Wednesday, but will not shut down the highway as earlier threatened.
Bankole in an exclusive interview with ait.live in Abeokuta the state capital said the planned total shutdown of the highway was reconsidered in view of the
palliative work the Ogun state government started on Monday but that it’s still necessary to go ahead with the Protest in order to make their presence felt and to pass a strong message to the Federal and the Ogun state government that they’re performing the role of a watchdog.
Bankole also decried the state of deplorable roads across Ogun state, urging the state government to do the needful urgently.
