The New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP), has raised an alarm on plans by some sponsored agents to cause a security crisis in the state, as part of protests over INEC’s declaration of Abba Yusuf, as the winner of the just concluded governorship election.
The party’s leader and former governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, claimed the information which was leaked to him through credible sources within the state, has been forwarded to the security agencies for necessary action.

The Commissioner of Police in charge of election security in the state, Hussaini Gumel, in a telephone conversation, said his command has not received any letter to that effect.
He, however, confirmed that the APC has informed the command of a planned peaceful protest on Wednesday, in a communication sent to it late on Tuesday, 21st March.
The police authorities have advised the APC and its agents to suspend the demonstration, due to the delicately volatile state of things in the state, to avoid a possible hijack of the process by hoodlums.
Officials of the APC in Kano state are yet to react to the development.
