The Edo State Police Command says the rumour circulating in public space that the new Commissioner of Police, CP Nemi Edwin-Iwo has disbanded the Edo State Security Network set up by Governor Godwin Obaseki to complement the effort of the Force in fighting crime is fake.
In a statement on Wednesday night, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Joel Yamu says the information is not only false and misleading but also mischievous and capable of causing unwarranted tension in the state.

He is using the medium to appeal to citizens of the state to remain calm and vigilant, and to report any suspicious activities to the police while also warning mischief makers to desist from spreading unfounded rumors.
He reiterates the commitment of the CP Edwin-Iwo to maintain law and order and ensure the safety and security of all inhabitants.
