The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested a 35-year-old commercial motorcyclist for attempting to abduct 2 pupils of the Family Support Programme Primary and Secondary School located in the Government Reserved Area, GRA, in Katsina Katsina capital, North-West Nigeria.

A statement signed by the State Command’s Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Corps, Mohammed Abdara, said, the suspect hails from Unwalar Jangefe in Katsina State.

It also added that the suspect was arrested by the officers of the Command stationed to protect the area, after receiving information from the father of the 2 pupils.

The statement further quoted the State Commandant of the Corps, Mohammed Bello, as directing the Intelligence Department to continue with its investigation, to uncover the suspect’s possible accomplices, and bring them to book.

The Command also cautioned school authorities and parents in the State to be vigilant, and ensure that only authorised persons are allowed to pick up students, after school closing hours.

The statement, therefore, reiterated the commitment of the command towards protecting the lives and property of the populace.

It added that all apprehended suspects will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
