Ondo State Police Commissioner, CP Salami Bolaji has threatened to deal with anyone caught perpetrating violence as the governorship election in the state draws nearer.
Salami, who made this known in a statement made available to ait.live, said the police are not unaware of the pockets of violence springing up in some parts of the state during political campaigns.
He noted that he had on two occasions warned party leaders to advise their followers on the need to eschew violence, but on both occasions, the warning fell on deaf ears.
The Ondo State Police boss further warned that he will not hesitate to unleash the dragon of the law on anybody, group, or political party discovered to be behind any political violence or destruction of property in the state, adding violence to the beauty of politics in Ondo State to desist or face the wrath of the law.
CP Bolaji hinted that the die is cast, following the third meeting with party chieftains in the state, as the Ondo State Police Command would not hesitate to send anyone found sponsoring or inducing anybody into carrying out acts of violence in the name of politics to the correctional service detention camp at Olokuta.

He advised party leaders to discourage faithful, most especially their youth wings from any act capable of creating violence in the polity, urging them to embark on decent electioneering campaigns in other to win votes for the success of their Party at the poll.
