The Ondo state 2020 Governorship Election Tribunal has fixed January 12, 2020, to begin proper hearing on the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and its candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN.
The petition is challenging the victory of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the October 10, 2020 Governorship election.
The Tribunal Chairman, Justice Umar Abubarkar announced the date while reading the report of the pre-trial hearing this thursday at the Ondo state High Court, venue of the sitting.

The report indicated that sitting will hold Mondays to Saturdays from 9:30am to 5pm except on public holidays, and Sundays.
All the counsels in the petition agreed with the contents of the pre-trial report but pleaded that the number of representation be pegged at 5 to reduce crowd in the Court room.
Recall that the Tribunal at the inaugural sitting dismissed the petitions filled by the Action Alliance, AA and All Peoples Party, APP against the victory of Governor Akeredolu during the pretrial stage for non-compliance to 2020 electoral act as amended.
