The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and heads of security agencies to investigate the recent political violence in the build-up to the poll in the state.
Jegede said the call became necessary following the second attack on his campaign train by gunmen suspected to be political thugs in Owo, which left five persons injured.
The PDP campaign train had earlier escaped disruption of its campaign at Ipele, but were not that lucky in Owo town, as their rally was brought to an abrupt end, after gunshot by suspected political thugs.
Jegede, however, said he is not afraid by the antics of his opponents, assuring his supporters that despite the various attacks, he is sure of coasting home to victory in the election.
