Ondo state health system is on the verge of collapse following the strike embarked upon by resident doctors at University of Medical Sciences, Nurses and doctors in government hospital are also threatening to down tools.
This is certainly not the best of time for the Ondo state health sector as COVID- 19 cases continue to rise in the state workers in the health sector are warming up for strike over government’s failure to address different issues affecting them
Association of Resident doctors has withdrawn clinical services from the state teaching hospital while the National Association of Government General Medical & Dental Practitioners begins their strike on Wednesday.
Nurses are not left out as they have also given government 48 hours ultimatum

Their Grievances range from unpaid salary arrears, poor welfare and inadequate provision of personal protective equipment
The health workers are also worried about government’s inability to carry out proper contact tracing.
With the latest development, the hope of COVID-19 Patients and other persons seeking medical attention now hang in the balance.
