United States standup comic act and filmmaker, Chris Rock has shunned hosting of the 2023 Academy Awards also known as the Oscars; five months after he was slapped on stage during the 2022 edition of the awards ceremony by American actor, Will Smith.
In a hilarious manner, Chris Rock said he declined hosting next year’s Oscars; as returning to Hollywood’s biggest night would be like returning to a crime scene.

Recall in March 2022, the comedian was slapped on stage at the Academy Awards after he made an expensive joke about Will Smith’s wife; which did not go down well with Smith.
