Paramount Traditional Ruler dies in Adamawa State

The Hama Bachama and Paramount Ruler of the Bachama Kingdom in Adamawa State, Honest Stephen is dead.

Timawus Mathias who is the Nzobyalata Hama Bachama and spokesperson of the Bachama Kingdom, confirmed this to ait.live. Mathias said the deceased died in the early hours of June 28, 2020, at his palace in Numan, Adamawa State, following a brief illness. Already the funeral rights are underway according to Bachama tradition in Lamurde, the Kingdom’s headquarters.

The Hama Bachama died at the age of 66 years old after ruling for over 7 years. He was the 28th ruler of the Bachama Kingdom and received his staff of office on December 15, 2013, from former Governor Murtala Nyako. He was a retired officer of the Nigerian Army who ascended the throne in 2012.
