The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has recorded a clean sweep of Saturday’s council election held across the 23 Local Government Areas, LGAs, of Benue State.
Benue State electoral commission Chairman BSEIC Tersoo Loko who announced this in Makurdi said the party also cleared the 270 available councillorship positions at the poll.
Chairman of the State Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, Tersoo Loko announced the outcome of Saturday’s local council election in favour of the People’s democratic party.

A total of 3 political parties, All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Labour Party, LP, and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, participated in the electoral process to produce political leaders at the 3rd tier of government.
It will be recalled that in February the main opposition party in the State The All Progressives Congress, APC, had opted out of the electoral process.
