President of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Pa Abel Afolayan has threatened to go spiritual and make all thirty-six states in Nigeria ungovernable, should State Governors succeed in borrowing trillions of Naira pension contribution.
Afolayan stated this at this year’s National Pensioners day and it came barely twenty-four hours after the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, threatened to mobilise workers for mass protests against State governors should they touch the money.
The NUP President however appealed to the Federal Government to exercise extreme caution in its planned removal of some names from the pensioners’ payroll.

The pensioners further noted the neglect of senior citizens by most State Governments during the COVID-19 outbreak, calling on them to pay arrears.
