President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Reverend Felix Omobude, has called on politicians in Edo State to shun all acts of violence as they campaign for the governorship election scheduled for September 19, 2020.
The PFN President made this call in Benin City, the state’s capital, when he played host to Governor Godwin Obaseki who has embarked on his campaign for a second term in office.
Omobude called on political actors to focus on issue- based campaigns and not to see the election as an exercise that must be won at all costs.
As the Chief Security Officer of Edo State, Governor Obaseki emphasised on the need for peace to prevail even as political parties go about seeking for support and votes from the electorates
Some Governors elected under the platform of the PDP and the National Working Committee were attacked at the entrance of the Oba Of Benin Palace by some rampaging youths allegedly sponsored by the opposition leadership on Saturday.
