Governors of Nigeria’s South-South geopolitical zone want the National Assembly to increase the provision in the Host Community Fund as contained in the Petroleum Industry Bill PIB from 2.5% to 10%.
Speaking after a meeting held ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party Zonal Congress in Port Harcourt, the Governors, while welcoming the establishment of a Host Community Trust Fund argue that the communities have a role to play especially in the area of surveillance of oil facilities and installations.

The South-South Governors say they also discussed the issue of the management of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.
