About 3 Chinese citizens mining in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State have been quarantined in the State following their return from China.
The 3 Miners who traveled for holiday in their own country were said to have been rejected upon their arrival at the mining site by their colleagues who quickly alerted the authorities about their return for fear of possible outbreak of the Coronavirus.
While confirming the development to AIT, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nimkong Lar, said the 3 Chinese nationals have been isolated at a centre for proper investigation by health workers, while a team of police, immigration and health officials are in search for the driver that brought them into the State.
The Chinese nationals were suspected having arrived the State on Friday from Ethiopia for mining activities, the Commissioner added.
The community of Zurak is a suburb of Wase Local Government headquarters with massive solid mineral deposits for mining activities.
