Six members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria popularly known as Shiites have been arrested following clash between members of the group and the Nigerian Police in Abuja.
In a press release signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, Mariam Yusuf, the clash happened on Monday when men of the command attempt to disperse a violent protest by some members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, Shiites at the Wuse area of Abuja.
The release further stated that the group went on a rampage destroying public property and attacking innocent citizens including Police Officers with stones and other dangerous objects.

According to the release, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, Bala Ciroma said the Command will not condone any form of attack on its personnel, equipment, or other public property in the name of protest.
Bala vows that all culpable persons will face the full wrath of the law.
While appealing to residents to remain calm and law-abiding, the Command wishes to reassure residents of its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property within the FCT
