The Nigerian have again arrested the co-convener of RevolutiinNow, Omoyele Sowore for leading a protest in Abuja on New year’s Eve night.
Some of the escaped protesters who Spoke to Ait’s Funke ogunlolu escaped arrest said Sowore was whisked away in one of the 7 vans brought by the police to carry out the operation as over 5 members were also arrested alongside the co-convener in gudu area.
Few hours later, members of the RevolutiinNow regrouped to protest the release of sowore across the nation’s capital.

Ait is yet to independently confirm which of the detention building sowore was after he was nabbed but some of the escapees said the co-convener was taken to Abbattoir police station, SARS office in Abuja where he is presently being detained alongside with few others.
Sowore on Thursday through his Twitter account charged Nigerians to hold a crossover protest by picking up a candle and a placard showing their grievances against the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
In 2019, Omoyele Sowore was detained for over 100 days by the department of state security over protest demanding for a 5-point demand on good governance, release of political prisoners among others and granted bail with conditions attached.
