Operatives of the Nigeria Police have arrested 21 year-old Auwalu Abdulrashid in connection to the kidnap and gruesome killing of his neighbour’s daughter in Tofa Local Government in Kano State Six months ago.
Abdulrashid confessed to have lured the late 13 years old victim, Zuwaira to an uncompleted building where he slit her throat with a knife before calling her parents for ransom.
The suspect who is a neighbour to the victim said he convinced the young Zuwaira to an uncompleted building and used the hijab she was wearing to strangle her to death before sliting her throat with a knife.
He said after killing her, he called the parents for ransom.

Spokesperson of the Command DSP Haruna Kiyawa said the incident was reported to the command and through sustained efforts, one Auwalu Abdulrashid of 21 years old was arrested on the 9th of January 2022 who confessed to the act.
Kiyawa said the suspect after kidnapping the child demanded one million naira from the parents before it was negotiated to four hundred thousand naira.
He said while negotiation was still on the body of the young girl was discovered in an uncompleted building slaughtered and buried.
The command said the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.
