Three decomposing corpses have been exhumed by the Nigerian Police at Bera Community Forest in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State, few days after the state’s Anti-kidnapping Squad recovered the carcass of a kidnapped victim tied to a tree in Eleme Forest.
The Anti-kidnapping team led by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni in the company of journalists, relatives of the deceased, and government officials thronged the Bera Forest in Gokana where the decomposing corpses were exhumed.
The Police Image Maker said that the young men got missing in March when the incidents were reported to them.
He says that the command’s Anti-kidnapping Crack Team swung into action, which led to the arrest of two suspects.
The parent of one of the deceased, who is also the legislator representing the Local Government Area explained that the three young men were killed for exposing the nefarious activities of a dreaded cult group who engaged in illegal oil bunkering.
The two suspects confessed that they were not the ones that killed the young men, but it was their cult group members that committed the crime.
