Nigerian street pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as ‘Portable’, is in the news again!
This time around, he has been arrested by the men of the Lagos State Police Command for failing to pay a debt of fourteen million Naira to a car dealer.
Trouble began when the “I am not a prisoner” singer purchased a G-Wagon worth twenty-seven million Naira from a car dealer in Lagos, and made a part payment of thirteen million, but refused to pay the remaining fourteen million Naira.
Portable was said to have been contacted several times to pay the money owed; a call he shunned and claimed that the vehicle sold to him was in bad condition when he bought it.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the singer’s arrest, said Portable was picked up on Tuesday, May 14th.
