Ahead of the Local Government and Governorship elections scheduled for August and October respectively in Ondo State, the Police Command has vowed to be neutral and fair to all the political parties.
State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami gave the assurance while reading the riot act to senior officers of the Command to live up to expectations.
This was at another monthly interface of the CP Salami with senior officers of the Command and Divisonal Police Officers.
This is coming when the State is preparing for the August 22 Local Government Election and the Governorship election on October 10 this year.
The Commissioner warned the officers against all acts of partisanship in the coming elections as well as the need to adhere to the Covid-19 precautionary measures.
He emphasised that the upcoming elections should however not be an excuse for laspes in existing security architecture of the state.
Besides the elections, other issues that took centre stage at the meeting include speedy attention to rape cases and the need for the newly promoted officers to redouble their efforts.
