Police raise alarm over involvement of more women in drug crimes in Cross River

The Police in Cross River State has expressed concern over the increasing involvement of women in drug related crimes in the state.

The State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande stated when his Command paraded 30 suspected armed robbers, cultists, kidnappers and drug dealers at the Police headquarters in Calabar.

Akande who described the situation as worrisome said based on investigations, the volumes of drugs that have been moved into Calabar call for serious concern.

He there called on the various stakeholders to support the police and other security agencies to stem the tide and safe the future of the innocent children.

Some of the suspected criminals who made confessional statements pleaded for mercy.

All the arrested suspect will be charge to court as soon as Police investigations are the concluded.
