Katsina State Police Command has rescued 22-year old Firdausi Magaji from her abductors after spending 4 days in captivity.
Spokesperson of the Command, Gambo Isah who confirmed this during a briefing says, no ransom was paid to secure her release.
Gambo says Firdausi has undergone medical checks at the Command’s clinic and has been certified fit to return home.
He noted that, her rescue was as a result of intelligence report received by the officer in charge of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, F-SARS who swung into action immediately after the adductors demanded a N2 million ransom.
Narrating her ordeal, Firdausi who is an senior secondary school 3 student said, the incident happened when she boarded a tricycle after visiting her aunt within Katsina metropolis.
According to her, “i met a woman inside the vehicle who was going same direction with me as suddenly, the driver took another route only for the woman to say she wanted to deliver a message. Immediately the woman alighted, two men came in putting me in the centre while they both pulled out a gun and knife threatening that if I raise alarm, I will be killed. At that point, I was blind folded and taken to an unknown destination”.
Though Firdausi said she was not sexually abused she was fed but thoroughly beaten.
Father of the victim, Magaji Hussaini while thanking the police for the safe rescue of her daughter called on them to sustain the tempo by getting rid of the bad elements in the society. He said the four days were a bitter experience for the family
