President Buhari appoints 2 new Vice Chancellors

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Emmanuel Adigio as the Vice Chancellor of the Nigerian Maritime University Okerenkoko in Delta State.

Briefing newsmen after receiving his appointment letter in Abuja, Professor Adigio affirmed his commitment to reposition the University to international standard.

His appointments is coming barely one month after the Federal Government removed Professor Maureen Orubide Etebu as Vice Chancellor of the University and dissolved the Governing Council chaired by current Minister for State, Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has also approved the appointment of Professor Stephen Okodudu as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt for a period of 6 months. He has also approved the dissolution of the Governing Council of the University chaired by Professor Mvendaga Jibo.

In separate letters of appointments, the President charged the 2 Vice Chancellors to reposition their institutions to become world class in the nearest future.
