Following the outbreak and spread of Coronavirus around the world, the Emir of Daura in Katsina State, Umar Faruq has suspended all islamiyya and quranic schools in group within the emirate council till further notice.
The Emir was speaking during a special prayer session organised against coronavirus in his palace which drew hundreds of faithful including Imams, Islamiyya and Quranic teachers, traditional rulers and some residents within and outside the emirate.
Speaking shortly before the prayer session, the Emir said the suspension of all Islamiyya and Quranic schools in group is in line with the directive given by the state government to close down all learning institutions across the state.

While explaining to his subjects that Coronavirus is a test from God, he added that it is more deadly than the current insecurity faced by the country hence, the need to go back to God for guidance and protection.
Faruq said the disease which is spreading across the world has today crippled sources of livelihood, learning institutions as well as places that will benefit the human race saying, if not to turn to god the end will be devastating.
He further encouraged Nigerians to continue praying for the leaders to enable them have god’s guidance to lead the country to greatness and seek solution to the disease.

He, therefore, advised people to always observe proper hygiene, avoid crowds more than 30 even during weddings and urged the scholars to continue sensitising their followers on the causes and prevention of Coronavirus
Also speaking during the prayer session, special adviser on media and protocols to the Emir, Ibrahim Hamisu, described it as a step in a right direction.
The gathering further went into intensive prayer session against the disease which the faithful believe will not only bring back normalcy to Nigeria alone but, to the entire world.
