President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, George Obiozor, has condemned the use of excessive force on the people saying it can only breed catastrophic outcomes.
Obiozor said this when he visited the traditional ruler of Orlu, Imo State over the recent joint military and Police operations which heightened the tension in the Orlu local government area and neighboring communities.
He said for Nigeria to achieve greatness, peace and unity must endure among states.
Earlier, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Imo State, Cyprian Akaolisa had justified the military operations, saying the state government actually invited the military to help intervene in the ongoing and alleged carnage and criminal activities allegedly perpetrated by suspected members of the Eastern security network of IPOB.

Recently, reports had it that the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB established illegal camps in Orlu areas.
However, peace and calmness has since returned to the affected areas.
