The rerun elections spanning 34 polling units across four Local Government Areas in Cross River State witnessed notable voter turnout.
Citizens from different age groups actively participated in voting and the presence of security agents played a crucial role in ensuring a seamless exercise.

Gabriel Yomere, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Cross River State, expressed satisfaction with the commission’s commitment to a successful rerun election in Akamkpa, Biase, Obanlikwu, and Yala local government areas.
While the voting process could largely be described as smooth, a minor incident occurred at Bayaga polling unit in Obanlikwu local government area but the swift response from Cross River State Commissioner of Police, CP Grimah Gyogon, led to a timely apprehension of those involved.
In Biase local government area, both the voters and election observers lauded the process, describing it as free and fair, without signs of discord.
Meanwhile, Pius Ashakia of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has been declared winner of the Obanlikwu State Constituency rerun election with 146 votes, followed by Sunday Achunekang of the All Progressive Congress, APC, with 133 votes.
