Ondo state health system is on the verge of collapse following the strike embarked upon by resident doctors at University of Medical Sciences, the state University teaching hospital.
Nurses and doctors in government hospital are also threatening to down tools.
The medical workers are demanding prompt action to protect them from COVID-19. Five doctors and 10 nurses have tested positive for the virus.
The medical has accused the state government of not doing enough to protect them from the deadly disease.
They also complained of the inability of state officials to carry out contact tracing of persons who were exposed to patients that tested positive for COVID-19.
Their other grievances include poor remuneration and working conditions as well as the non-provision of personal protective equipment.

Nurses are not also left out as they have also given government 48 hours ultimatum to meet their demands or they down tools
