Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers state

Rivers state Governor Sim Fubara says his administration has significantly improved the state’s revenue from about 12 billion naira to about twenty-seven billion naira monthly and is no longer borrowing to embark on projects across the state.

The governor said his administration has been able to achieve this through prudent management of resources, accountability, and transparency.

Speaking when he played host to members of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Procurement, Governor Fubara noted that the interest and well-being of the people will continue to be the focus of his administration adding that his government will also invest massively in about four key sectors: Education, health, agriculture and human empowerment.

The primary function of the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts is to hold government institutions accountable for the use of public funds and resources by examining all related financial documents, including reports submitted by the auditor general.

To further improve their capacity, members of the committee are in Rivers State for a retreat. Chairman of the committee Bamidele Salam commended the Sim Fubara led administration for its transparency and prudent management of resources.

Governor Sim Fubara said that he is operating a transparent government and has nothing to hide, especially when it comes to giving accounts for public funds.

He added that his administration will continue to invest in the core areas of education, health, agriculture, and human empowerment.

The governor told the visiting federal lawmakers to stand by the truth at all times.

Governor Sim Fubara further used the occasion to single out his deputy, Professor Ngozi Ordu, for her unwavering loyalty.
