Governor Hope Uzodinma has commissioned 10 free mobile clinics to operate in the 27 local government areas of Imo state, following what he described as a poor taste of the health sector in the rural areas.
Governor Uzodinma, while flagging off the mobile clinics at the Government House, Owerri, directed the administrators of the programme to guard against abuse of the exercise.
Each of the 10 mobile clinics is sufficiently equipped with at least two medical doctors and four certified nurses who will be moving to rural areas.
The Imo State Chief Executive said the project is in fulfillment of part of his campaign promises which includes a sound health-care system.
He expressed confidence that the mobile clinics will greatly enhance the good works in the health sector and said the services will be free.
