Russian Opposition Politician, Alexei Navalny, is headed home from Germany, five months after falling gravely-ill from poisoning, while on a flight within his country.
German doctors who treated the 44-year old certified that he was poisoned with the nerve agent, novichok, but the Russian authorities denied allegations it was responsible for attempts on Navalyny’s life.
The plane carrying him is set to touch down in Moscow, later on, Sunday, and there are reports that the authorities have organised a concert for a well-liked pop musician to coincide, and divert attention from the activist’s well-publicized return.

Navalny is also likely to be arrested, as the Russian authorities say he ought to have reported to a police station last December, on issues related to a prior conviction, charges he had called, “trumped-up”.
