As schools in Kano resume today for the first academic session, some parents are worried about the safety of their children, amidst the rising cases of covid-19 in the country.
The parents want the government to seek better ways of addressing the second wave, so that the academic calendar will not be disrupted like in the previous year.
Students in some of the schools visited, say they are happy to be back, as the school authorities ensured that safety measures are put in place.
At the entrance of some of the schools are notices that highlight what students and parents must ensure as they enter the school.
The parents of some of the pupils, however, said they are not satisfied with the safety measures as they complained about payment of new another school’s fees, just two months after paying for a different term.
