Former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson has demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari should as a matter of urgency convene an expanded meeting of the National Council of State to deliberate on the worsening security situation in the country.
Dickson who represents Bayelsa West in the Senate made the demand on AIT’S flagship current affairs programme, Focus Nigeria on Monday. He says the proposed expanded meeting must consist of all stakeholders including traditional rulers, former vice presidents and statutory members of the Council with the President taking the lead to proffer solutions to the rising insecurity.

The lawmaker also emphasised the need to review the present system of government to allow for devolution of powers across regions. He maintains that the present presidential system of government does not match the muti-ethnic architecture of the country and cannot guarantee the dividends of democracy to the people.
He wants a change to the parliamentary system.
